I really do not know why, but each time there is a WOTGG event which happens at the beautiful and spectacular Evo Eco Building in downtown Los Angeles, just so happens to coincide with something very important in my life. The last WOTGG event I attended was on March 31st, which was my lovely Aishwarya’s 3rd birthday and this first WOTGG Conference, 2010 fell on June 12, which happens to be my wedding anniversary. So might I add I hold these events incredibly close to my heart.
Where can I begin. First off to honor the fact that my dear friend and fellow sister-seeker, Kris Willey(www.womenofthegreengeneration.com), really has helped create and shape an extremely timely gathering of women in celebration and collaboration of sharing who they are and what they are doing in the Green movement to bring the world into a healthier and more sustainable place. It truly was an honor to have the opportunity to speak at this event and be part of a panel with such amazing women. The whole day was as if on a smooth sail. Women were chatting and laughing, being touched by each others words and inspired by hearing of the actions each one was endeavoring. The list of the women attending is long, but just to mention a few, I met with my friends and fellow colleagues, Rebecca Mink from Mink shoes(www.minkshoes.com), Bahar Shahpar(www.baharshahpar.com) and also met so many inspiring entrepreneurs in the Green and sustainable field like, Sophie Uliano(www.gorgeouslygreen.com), author of New York bestseller, Gorgeously Green, who was showcasing and celebrating her new book, Do it Gorgeously. For fun, she demonstrated how to make vitamin c serum, naturally. It was so lovely to see her present who she is and whip up some anti aging serum at the same time. I call her a Renaissance Woman of the 21st Century. She was beautiful and funny and super smart. A true woman of the universal world! I also had a lovely chat with Rachel Avalon(www.rachelavalon.com), who is the Project Green Search ‘it ‘Girl and has been promoting holistic nutrition and lifestyle for many years.
The panel I was fortunate enough to be part of also had on it the lovely Taryn Hipwell of Eco Divastv(www.ecodivastv.com). Also was in the company of the lovely, Jennifer Miller, of Mission Savvy(www.missionsavvy.com) who is trying to help heal the world through promoting eco-conscious fashion.
We spoke about what it means to be a woman in the 21st century and how we are redefining our role as women in the world of business and in the world of womanhood. To heal the planet means to become more aware of ourselves and our actions and to create unity amongst one another by sharing resources and information. Our lovely Candace was not able to attend as she has flown off to NYC for a new adventure, however, I read some beautiful words she wrote for us on her behalf. It was so beautiful to see the warmth and the welcome in the faces of so many women and men who attended this special conference.
We were happy to have the lovely, inspiring and accomplished Felicia Tomasko, Editor in Chief of LA Yoga and Ayurveda magazine, helm the health and wellness panel. So great to see us coming together in the name of whole health. She brought the conversation into the essence of what empowerment of self meant as far as expanding in our awareness as far as alternative and natural healing modalities.
I met an incredible woman by the name of Fahmina Tsunami, an amazing artist and Goddess who makes the most beautiful jewelry and accessories. Her work is all made out of her love and meditation and the pieces imbibe this quality. Please visit her site and check it out at www.fahmina.com. The kindness and love that Fahmina has is so beautiful to see. She welcomed everyone with so much welcome and grace. The day was truly inspirational.
It was also a pleasure to see the inspirational and enigmatic Rebecca Harrell Tickell, speaking and signing her book, Hot, Rich and Green(www.rebeccatickell.com).
There were women getting manicures and pedicures from Green Bliss Eco Spa(www.greenblissecospa.com). Naturally getting a nail and pampering treatment with no toxic chemicals, Divine!
There were women getting facials, lovely organic healthy food for everyone to enjoy by Large Marge Sustainables (www.largemargesustainables.com) and yummy baked goods by Tia’s Bakery(www.tiasbakery.com) also it was so much fun and enlightening to sip yerba mate from our friends at Guayaki(www.guayaki.com) hosted by one of the owners, the lovely, one and only, Don Miguel and others. The day was a day I wish I could have every day. So nice being in community where we can share and learn and grow from one another.
If we can come together in the world as we did on this day to celebrate life and togetherness, we will have a world we would love to experience. A world where understanding and intelligence can happen and where true growth and healing can emerge.
Here’s to the continuation of this beautiful beginning to the wonderful and much appreciated, Women Of The Green Generation Conference 2010.
We are honored and proud of you Kristina Willey for instigating a powerful and necessary movement and gathering, once again, each time bigger and brighter.
ONELOVE,
Chandanni
